Add to that nearly 10 km of walking on sun-baked concrete paths and an app that drains your battery by mid-afternoon, and you start to understand what the brochure doesn't mention. This list focuses on exactly those gaps: the things you won't think to bring until you're already standing in a 40-minute queue with no shade, or shivering in a light summer outfit during the night show. Pack for the heat of the day AND the cool of the evening — they are both waiting for you.

- Keep your bag compact and easy to open: all bags are checked at the entrance, and oversized bags tend to slow things down considerably. Rigid cool-boxes are best left in the car — soft picnic bags with your food and drinks are fine inside the park. source

How do you get to Futuroscope and where do you park?
By car, take exit 28 'Futuroscope' off the A10 motorway — the visitor car park is just a couple of minutes away (Avenue René Monory, 86360 Chasseneuil-du-Poitou). On-site parking is charged at around 13 € per vehicle for the day. If you're coming by train, Futuroscope has its own TGV station with direct connections from Paris-Montparnasse and Bordeaux — a very convenient option. Poitiers-Biard airport is roughly 15 minutes away by taxi.
Do you need to book tickets for Futuroscope in advance?
For the main park, booking ahead isn't strictly required — you can buy at the gate — but going online first often unlocks better prices and promotional rates that aren't available on the day. For the Aquascope, an advance booking with a timed entry slot is the only way in, as tickets aren't sold on site. Day tickets for the main park start around 46 € for adults and 38 € for children in green-period dates (2026 pricing), with group rates available for four or more people when booked at least three days before your visit.
What should you wear to Futuroscope — shoes and clothes tips
Comfortable closed-toe shoes are the way to go for a full day on your feet — sandals and flip-flops will let you down. A light waterproof layer is worth packing as some attractions have water effects. The evening show takes place outdoors, so bring a warm, wind-resistant jacket — especially outside summer. In hot weather, shade is limited across much of the park, so a hat and sun cream will make the day much more enjoyable; in winter, shoes with good grip are a sensible choice.
